7th Annual Public Health Campaign

After coming back from Kuantan, i really felt boring staying at home....suddenly, my friend (Shin Ying), ask me to join the Public Health Campaign (PHC) since the screening department lack of people...before that, i really wanted to join this PHC and was placed in the equipment department....but due to the limited places available, then i was displaced....but now, i am back in the PHC and placed in screening department....haha....i am ready for it! The PHC was held in Sunway Pyramid from 20 to 22 june....everyone looks nervous at the beginning and i, for sure, heart pumping like mad already! I am not very good in my communication...and quite worry that time....don't know what am i going to face afterward...At the beginning, I was placed in blood pressure counter....very nervous that time....my hand was shaking when assessing the blood pressure of Datin and i really couldn't hear her pulse...in fact, i heard my heart beating crazily........she can see that i nervous and decided to check again later...but she never come back....afterthat, i try to calm down myself.....later, i check the blood pressure for the next customer and the next and the next....it's really hard to hear the pulse with music and sound system surrounded....i was really scared i take the wrong reading....In the evening, charlene put me in the body fat counter...PHEW~ really relieve because body fat counter is the easiest among all...and is my favorite counter..hehe....On the second day, i was put in height, waist and hip measurement counter....this is not a hard job but is quite tiring because we have to stand all day long...and sometimes it is hard to take the waist's measurement because my hands are not long enough....if the customer has slightly big tummy..then it will look like i am hugging the customer....after taking dinner, we get to choose whichever counter we wanted to go because they no longer follow the time table....i quickly ran to the body fat counter before anyone get the sit...haha...The last day wasn't that much people but many of my colleagues started to get sick.....but they still give their best and make PHC a successful event ....i met a cute little boy name Andrew....when my colleague is consulting Andrew's father....my colleague asked Andrew's father whether he do exercise or not.....'my father always exercise but he eat a lot too ' that's was Andrew answered...he is cute right??..haha....besides, Andrew also won 2nd place in the colouring contest.....congratz!!After three days of hard work....finally the 7th annual PHC come to an end....it exceed 1700 people to come for health screening...this doesn't includes those that come for the exhibition and kids in the coloring contest...at night we had pizza and KFC for our supper as celebration for this successful event....i really learn something in this PHC.....able to believe in myself and more confident when facing strangers....i really thanks the committee for allowing me to join this PHC and deeply appreciates that....

No Gaps 2008

Wednesday, 11 June
We all left KL to Kuantan, a place that i never go before....the journey to Kuantan is not a short one...we talk, laugh, eat, and sleep in the bus...and finally we reach our destination....
everyone is hungry at that time....so we went to the nearest mamak to fill up our hungry stomach....although i am quite hungry at that time, but i just ordered a 'milo kosong' and a 'roti kosong'.....i was quite disappointed by the food that i ordered....although i am hungry, but i took quite some times to finished up my food....and the price was not cheap..... later, the NoGaps committee came and took us to our hostel.... We all are really tired at that time.....i just hope that i can lie on the bed and sleep as long as i could....but to our surprise....our hostel room is full of dust, ants, spiders, sand...etc....it probably like an abandon room for quite some times......no choice, we have to clean up everything before we finally get our sleep...... Thursday, 12 June SUDDENLY, around 2M TO 3AM (i not really sure about the time), the fan and light was off....what had happen we really don't know....i just felt really tired and continue to sleep...i woke up the next morning with my whole body full of sweat....there is still no electricity in our room.....tired~ We went to registration and then a tour to the IIUM campus.... later we change our clothes and heading to pantai sepat for the ice-breaking session....we are divided into 10 groups and i am in the last group which was Group J...i felt nervous at that time because i don't know anyone in my group... After that, we play 'flour water throwing' games...haha....i didn't really play coz i don't really know the rules.....all my friends came back with flour all around their pants and shirt....and i won the cleanest category...haha ... Friday, 13 June Today was the most tiring day in Kunatan.... In the morning, we went to the auditorium for poster and research presentation....we almost fall asleep due to the cooling environment and lack of sleep.... then later during the afternoon, we have to change to the long sleeves orange shirt provided for the pharmrace.... the weather outside was really hot....i already sweating there before the race start...My group got the 7th place in the pharmrace....hehe... Saturday, 14 June Community service in kuantan parade....I am in the screening department...In the evening, we all get dress up for the cultural night.... every group have to perform during the cultural night....and my group is performing coir ...i am very bad in singing and memorising...my group members had created lyrics for our coir....obviously i couldn't memorise all the lyrics...so during the performance, i was really nervous....my group members all was nervous too....when my group started to sing, i try to sing as well...but when i forgot the lyrics, i just moves my mouth without voice coming out from my throat..:P Sunday, 15 June We had MyPSA annual general meeting in the morning....
